Power plant & grid

Our flywheel energy storage system can be used in frequency modulation and voltage regulation of the power grid. For peak load, the power plant must adjust to changing load variances. The flywheel energy storage system has the characteristics of fast discharge time and high discharge power, making it the ideal choice for power plants.

transportation

Trains and rail vehicles brake using motors or some combination with brakes, creating heat and contributing to equipment operation problems, degradation, passenger comfort, and heat strain risk. The kinetic energy of the train is dissipated through large electrical resistors or friction brakes thereby wasting the braking energy as heat. Expelling this unwanted heat presents cost, energy and technical challenges. Because trains are heavy and moving at high speed, the amount of energy lost on every braking event is significant.

industrial waste heat

Waste heat is a major source of warming for the environment. By capturing ambient waste heat from industrial applications, we are able to efficiently generate energy through an Organic Rankine Cycle process. The fluid allows Rankine cycle heat recovery from lower temperature sources such as biomass combustion, industrial waste heat, geothermal heat, solar ponds etc. The low-temperature heat is converted into useful work, that can itself be converted into electricity.
